Our ever-changing world and domestic affairs have led to an evolution of communication forms from their previous role, function and communication tools, to more advanced technology, gadgets and innovations. With regard to Thailands recent socio-political turbulence, information and communication has become a more crucial part in the society. Many organizations have become vigilant in terms of information outlets, including mass media communication and social media networks, that have proved a challenge to both communication executives, communicators and Thai citizens in general.

PRTHAILAND s aim is to create an executive communication network linking personnel and those with an interest in public relation and communication, organizational communication, marketing and mass media communication, broadcasting, radio and television, digital media, telecommunication and other aspects of communication. This network will integrate ideas with capabilities, and knowledge with progressive development. It will also promote limitless interaction and give opportunities to the younger generations to contribute to the wellbeing of the country and society.

PRTHAILAND would like to welcome everybody to become part of its communication network for Thailand integration and development.

PRTHAILAND aims at creating networks of communication. It has also positioned itself at the center of these networks and moderates communication activities both in the society and in businesses. These networks, therefore, form a web of information, activities and cooperation nationally and internationally.

PRTHAILAND prides itself in its progressiveness. It does not restrict itself to one organizational formula. Rather, it lays emphasis on limitless transmission of creative ideas among members and non-members, individuals and organizations nationally and internationally. These interactions are achieved by means of active relationships and communication for the development of individual roles that will benefit the public at large.

PRTHAILAND is keen on hearing feedback, thoughts and creative ideas in order that it can move forward in this progressive society.

Sakchai Ruangkittikul, PRTHAILAND Vice President : He implements strategic management plans. He is also responsible for liaising between PRTHAILAND and individuals, professional units from both the public and private sector, national and international organizations, and other related organizations to formulate a network of cooperation and the effective integration of roles.

Not only the private but also the public sector has widely recognised and put into practice the idea of communication through consistent corporate, business, marketing and social campaigning.

Communication has greatly supported vital results in better understanding, increased awareness and the effective dissemination of ideas in the society, all of which are crucial to the success of each organizational and societal mandate.

Communication helps preserve the cultural heritage and way of life. It also boosts national grass-root income by making most use of local resources. Communication, therefore, injects interest and excitements by reaching out.

PRTHAILAND believes in Thai heritage and culture values and welcomes cooperation from all sectors to creatively promote Thai values internationally.

Yaowalak Hotrabhavananda, PRTHAILAND Secretary :She oversees PRTHAILAND s activities, organizational and inter-organizational information management, liaison, the administration plan, assessment and evaluation. She also assists PRTHAILAND s Board of Committee in seeing through PRTHAILAND s other activities.

PRTHAILAND introduces platforms for academic research, thought, reflection and other related works in the field of public relations, organizational communication, integrated marketing communication, mass media communication, broadcasting, radio and television, digital media and other creative aspects of Thailand aiming at their development.

I hope to attract those interested in the area of public relations and communication, be they individuals, young people or communities, to contribute knowledge, thoughts and expertise in the hope of marrying interests and developing creative, social networks that will ultimately reflect Thailand, its value and pride, and encourage for its key institutions, reputation and image both nationally and internationally.

Nonetheless, PRTHAILAND reserves the right to select and recommend amendments to both submitted works and bibliographies. It is also compulsory that those submitting works must have written the works themselves and be solely responsible for any dispute that may arise as a result of the publication of the works.


Srisuda Thambumrung, PRTHAILAND Committee : She analyses information, conducts polls and research, and highlights research subjects that are appropriate and in line with Thailands current concerns so that they can be published or distributed to the public through various media channels.

Communication is a powerful tool crucial to building a positive image for any organization. It can also be used in public relations and marketing communication to improve credibility and influence the reception of its target audience, increase positive feedback and sale figures, whilst, in crises, it can engender a feeling of acceptance and disperse negative outlooks. With creative input, communication can be engaging and will constantly evolve.

Today, any talk of communication no longer refers to one passive audience group. People consume media in its various incarnations. We no longer only demand one printed media or one kind of media form. Many people spend their time online and rely on the digital world. Old forms of media tools, therefore, have become inadequate. One needs to be more selective using appropriate media outlets to reach different target audiences. Meanwhile, different media outlets tend to imply or clearly designate their audiences.

My background lies in educational management and I am honoured to have been granted the opportunity by PRTHAILAND to become part of an organization charged with raising awareness, understanding and cooperation within Thai society. PRTHAILAND represents the new-wave of Thailands communicators.

One of PRTHAILANDs missions is to support professional development in public relations, organizational communication, marketing and mass communication, broadcasting, radio and television, digital technology and telecommunication activities so that both management and operations can deliver to their full potential and contribute to the welfare of the vocation and society.

The operation of PRTHAILAND is unique and not limited to news publication, press conferences, media distribution, information management, and press relations. It involves demographic studies and their application to generate and distribute information according to location, age group, educational background, interests, and lifestyle choices, with the focus on promoting real life experience among organizations, products, services and their targeted audiences and consumers. PRTHAILAND introduces tailored activities in order to reach these targets and uses them to implement communication plans and their direction.

It is crucial to follow the trends and developments in communication and put such knowledge to good use. My expertise in integrated media communication for over a decade leads me to believe that PRTHAILAND responds to the multi-facetedness of communication and dedicates itself to promoting professional and academic values in the field of communication.

PRTHAILAND believes in the new method of branding and image adjustment; that is, Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC). It makes use of a number of media tools, such as brand image, IMC, online communication, social networking and most importantly, PR events. Today PR approaches are distinctive in their indirectness. PRTHAILAND focuses on one main idea and materialises it utilising these integrated tools and creating complex methodologies that are relative and inseparable. What is important is that that main idea must be clearly emphasised and conveyed.

Having worked extensively in public relations and integrated communication businesses for various brands and products, I believe in the good intent of PRTHAILAND and am delighted to have become part of TPRA and be contributing to the development of the public relations and communication sector and of Thai society.
